What is worth writing about
- A tank that is going wrong. Cloudy water, a stalled cycle, an ammonia reading that will not fall. Include the tank volume, how long it has been running, whether fish are in it, and your latest ammonia and nitrite numbers — with those four facts a useful answer is usually possible.
- A correction. If a specification here contradicts the manufacturer, or the arithmetic on a page does not hold up, we want to know. This site works from published documents and those documents get revised.
- A question we have not answered. Reader questions are the main source of new guides here. If you could not find the answer on the site, that is a gap worth knowing about.
- Business enquiries, including anything about the Amazon Associates links.
What we cannot do
We are not veterinarians and cannot diagnose a sick fish from a description. Where a fish is visibly ill rather than stressed by water quality, an aquatic vet or an experienced local shop is the right call and we will say so rather than guess.
We also do not accept products for review, paid placements, sponsored posts or guest articles. Not as a negotiating position — the site's entire claim to being worth reading is that nothing on it was bought, and there is no version of that arrangement that survives it. See the editorial policy.

Fin & Filter is a publisher, not a shop. There is no storefront, nothing is sold or shipped from here, and there is no premises to visit — so there is no phone number or postal address to list.
